Introduction

Hi, I'm Stephanie, and I’m here to walk with you on your journey toward healing and growth. As a Latina therapist, I understand firsthand the unique challenges our community faces—especially the stigma surrounding mental health. Many of us are taught to keep our struggles private, and as a result, it can be difficult to reach out for the help we deserve. I am deeply committed to creating a space where you feel seen, heard, and understood—no matter your background, social status, or citizenship. I believe everyone, regardless of their circumstances, deserves access to compassionate and culturally competent mental health care. My Approach to Therapy: When you work with me, you’ll find a therapist who genuinely listens to you. I take a Person-Centered approach, where we work together to explore what’s going on in your life. I trust in your inherent ability to heal, but I know life can make us feel stuck or overwhelmed at times. That’s where I come in—offering support, empathy, and understanding as we navigate your unique challenges. I also incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness techniques when helpful. These approaches help to identify unhelpful thought patterns and build healthier ways of coping, so you can move forward with confidence and clarity. Additionally, I am EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) trained, which is a powerful and evidence-based approach to help individuals heal from trauma. EMDR is particularly helpful for those who have experienced traumatic events or are struggling with persistent emotional pain. This technique can help process memories and emotions, allowing you to move forward with greater peace and resilience. I believe that healing is not a one-size-fits-all process, and my goal is to work with you in a way that feels authentic to who you are. I see therapy as a partnership—an opportunity for us to come together and create a plan that fits your needs, goals, and values. A Safe Space for Growth: Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals through challenges like anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress—issues that often weigh heavily on both the mind and body. I’ve seen how these struggles can impact every aspect of life, but I also believe that healing begins when we’re able to confront and process those difficult emotions. Together, we’ll create a space where you can express yourself freely, without fear of judgment. I want you to feel safe and supported as we explore your past, address your present, and build a future where you feel empowered to be your best self. Whether you’re seeking clarity, healing, or growth, I’m here to help guide you every step of the way. Faith and Therapy: I am also a Christian, I understand that faith can play a central role in many people’s lives. If faith is important to you, I offer the option of incorporating faith-based interventions into our work together to help you on your healing journey. My Specialties: I primarily work with adults and adolescents who are navigating the challenges of trauma, anxiety, stress, and depression. I understand how these struggles can affect every aspect of life, and I’m here to support you through them. In addition to trauma and anxiety, I also specialize in helping individuals adjust to chronic illness, cope with the impact of disability, and process grief. Life transitions can also be difficult, and I’m here to help you find clarity and strength through those changes. I also focus on enhancing self-esteem and supporting clients through cultural diversity challenges, acculturation, and immigration difficulties. I recognize that the immigration process can bring unique emotional and psychological challenges, and I am committed to helping you navigate these complexities with compassion and understanding. I believe in providing a safe space where we can address the struggles of adjusting to a new life and identity while honoring your unique background and experiences.
