About Me: I received my Master’s degree in Counseling from St. Mary’s College of California. My therapeutic approach can be described as “client centered” which means we will work together to focus our sessions on areas where you believe you have personal challenges or needs. You set our agenda and we work together toward your goals. You can expect me to show genuineness, empathy, and unconditional positive regard as I create a safe and non-judgmental space for you. During my years of practice, I have worked with adults and children in clinical, home based, and school based settings, giving me a broad understanding of the challenges my clients face at various points in their life. Work with adults: I worked for 5 years in a community health center where I specialized in providing therapy to clients newly diagnosed with sexually transmitted infections, primarily genital herpes. I provided individual and couples counseling and also created groups to support clients through this confusing and difficult time. I also have experience working with clients managing chronic illness, anxiety, and depression. Work with children: I have had 15+ years of experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Developmental Disabilities, and Emotional Disturbance in clinical, home based, and school based settings. I thoroughly enjoy working collaboratively with parents, school personnel, and the child to promote the healthiest possible outcomes and to overcome obstacles.
