Stephanie McShan is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with the Florida Department of Health, since 2015. She completed her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Central Florida and Master Degrees in both Social Work and Educational Leadership from the University of Central Florida. Stephanie also received a certification in Children Services from the University of Central Florida. Stephanie has worked in the capacity of Mental Health Provider at one of Central Florida's Federally Qualified Healthcare Centers for the last 2 years. In her role as Mental Health Provider, Stephanie worked with patients with varying mental health disorders providing individual counseling. She provided mental health assessments and diagnosis, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and crisis intervention as well as served as a liaison between her patients and community resources. Stephanie has worked as a LCSW with one of the top hospitals in Central Florida where she worked with patients with an array of health diagnosis. In this role, she assisted patients with mental health concerns that may have developed as a result of the normal aging process, life stresses, or a new diagnosis. Providing in-home care to elderly patients when they needed it the most. Prior to working with the elderly population, Stephanie gained experience working in a in-patient mental health facility as an Admission Specialist. The primary role of her position was to process patients that were admitted into the hospital both voluntarily and in-voluntarily. Before transitioning into the hospital field, Stephanie has worked with children in the Orange County Public School System for 14 years in a variety of capacities, including: Teacher, Guidance Counselor, Family Intervention Specialist and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support Coach. Stephanie also has experience in juvenile addictions, community based care and therapeutic foster care arenas. Stephanie is passionate about working with individuals and families. She enjoys working with children, adolescents and young adults to develop self empowering skills to promote success from within. Stephanie believes that working together with the patient and family to create a treatment plan that will support the patient's needs to be more effective. She believes in working in a compassionate, empathetic environment using skills and techniques acquired over the years.
