Introduction

I am Stephanie Practice Owner, Licensed Psychotherapist and book nerd of all things psychology or fiction/ suspense and mystery. This is what is important to know about me so we can decide if we might work well together. I have years of clinical experience that allows me to offer a greater understanding and a safe space to explore your areas of need. My therapeutic approach is to support not pathologize. You may feel there is something wrong with you. Those feelings and struggles can become complicated. I can help things feel less complicated, help you find more agency in your life, get connected to your body and offer compassion to the parts of you needing healing. I hold my professional values as safety containers for those I work with. I use a Eclectic therapeutic approach, focus on Parts-Work Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Integrative Relationship Therapy and Attachment Theory. All my work has a somatic and neuroscience base, supporting Polyvagal Theory. I am a non-pathologizing, anti-racist, 2SLGBTQQAI+ affirming, somatic, book nerd therapist, who is motivated by a social justice lens. I have training in EMDR, Brainspotting and Internal Family Systems (IFS) and a certification in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Areas of specialization include: trauma, depression, anxiety, addiction and behavioral addictions, (i.e) gambling, shopping, hypersexual behaviors, shoplifting, burnout/vicarious trauma, intimate partner betrayal/trauma. I work in a focused concentration with cross-connection between addictive behaviors and OCD. I work with licensed professionals in HPSP, collaborating with HPSP for quarterly reports submission. If you are navigating the legal system: On probation, Legal issues, I communicate (as needed and signed ROI), with your legal team and your probation officer. I use she/her pronouns. 2SLGBTQQAI+ affirming I advocate for special needs awareness and rights. I live this in my professional life and personal life. My practice is on the homeland of the Dakota and Ojibwe people I am an LPCC and LADC. I have been in the field of addiction/mental health for many years. I completed my masters in counseling psychology, undergraduate degree in forensic psychology with a specialization in forensic and the law. I also have an undergraduate degree in addiction counseling. I am a licensed addiction psychotherapist (LADC) and specialize in addiction and behavioral addictions. I am a Gambling Treatment Provider. I completed my training through State of Minnesota Department of Human Services Mental Health Division: Gambling Treatment Provider. I utilize the following modalities in my sessions: Internal Family Systems (IFS), Non-Violent Communication (NVC), CBT, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Somatic practices. I am a book nerd and use bibliotherapy {Book Therapy} often, but only if reading + journaling/ homework is your cup of tea. I have done numerous public speaking events on Wernicke encephalopathy and Korsakoff psychosis as well as Understanding Addiction and Family Systems.
