Hello, I’m glad you’re here! Since beginning my career as a Behavioral Health Therapist, I have helped many who were feeling stuck or stagnant in life, or feeling anxious and depressed. I love working with people who are ready to try new things to heal or think about an issue in a new way. I enjoy problem-solving, challenging old ways of doing things, teaching new ways of thinking and being a true support in order to help someone move forward in life. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Client Centered Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy to help people who are struggling with depression and anxiety in order to live more meaningful and satisfying lives. During adolescence, I found psychology interesting and loved the subject and decided to attend the University of North Texas where I completed my Bachelor's degree in Psychology. After college, even though I worked outside of the mental health industry for awhile, the calling to work in the field of psychology and help people never subsided. As such, I went on to earn my Masters of Science degree in Clinical Counseling from Bellevue University so I could finally pursue my passion of psychology and helping people. I've spent many years working in the public mental health sector serving people with severe and persistent mental illness with diagnoses of bipolar disorder, depression, schizophrenia and addiction. I also spent valuable time working with Dallas' homeless population while working as a therapist at The Cottages at Hickory Crossing, the tiny house community in Dallas for the chronically homeless. During my career I have been blessed to give back in many ways. I've given several speeches for The Altshuler Center for Education and Research for Metrocare Services in Dallas to raise awareness and funds for the Center in order to continue the education of doctors, therapists, and mental healthcare professionals training through Metrocare Services and the research studies conducted by these professionals. Personally, I grew up in a big family. I’m the second oldest of seven children. I would say that’s some excellent training for diplomacy and communication. I’m now married and we have two beautiful daughters. I love to be outside and see how many flowers and plants I can keep alive. My dream is to have a plentiful vegetable garden that I can share with others. Also, I’m always up for a road trip or change of scenery.
