Dr. Stephanie Dubina is a licensed clinical psychologist with expertise in pediatric psychology. She received her doctorate in clinical psychology from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and completed both her pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital, a children’s hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Dubina’s career has focused on working with children, adolescents, and young adults who present with health-related adjustment challenges, anxiety, mood challenges, attentional and behavioral difficulties, trauma, relationship challenges, and school difficulties. Dr. Dubina incorporates mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in her work to reduce distress and improve coping. She also has expertise in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for children and adolescents who have a history of trauma and continue to experience distress in regard to those experiences. Dr. Dubina includes parents/caregivers in their child or adolescent’s treatment as they play a significant role in the therapeutic process. She incorporates therapeutic games, books, music, videos, and other activities into both telehealth and in-person appointments to promote optimal engagement and learning in session. Discussing personal challenges can be difficult and unappealing for children and adolescents, so having additional supports in the session can be powerful in facilitating the therapeutic process. Dr. Dubina is relatively new to the Rochester area after moving here from Salt Lake City. She enjoys quality time with her husband and child, yoga, and exploring the coffee and food scene in the Rochester area.
