I am a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor serving individuals, couples, and families in Maryland. Providing a safe environment where my clients feel empowered to share their experiences and struggles without fear of judgment is my main priority. I believe that walking the journey with my clients through empathy, support, and collaboration is crucial to building a trusting relationship that can lead to positive change and well-being. I began my counseling journey as a Crisis Counselor in Calvert County providing support and counseling services to children, adolescents, women, and men experiencing crisis and trauma. I then transitioned to working with men and women in the fire service experiencing a range of mental health issues including PTSD, depression, anxiety, OCD, OCPD, stress, and substance use issues. My passion lies in working with those who have experienced trauma and are struggling with post-traumatic stress. I am trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy, a specific type of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy aimed to help reduce the symptoms of PTSD. I believe in a strengths-based approaystch while also incorporating Cognitive Behavioral techniques focused on addressing the thoughts and beliefs keeping us “stuck.” As a mother of three active children, I understand the struggles of managing the day-to-day and believe that incorporating stress reduction techniques into daily life is essential to positive well-being.
