Is your child currently struggling socially, emotionally, or behaviorally, and you, the parent, are feeling stuck with what to do? It can be difficult to feel vulnerable to take the first step in seeking help, but you're in the right place! By using a child-centered approach and creating a compassionate, warm, and non-judgmental environment, I hope to build a strong, trusting relationship with you and your child, where we can explore the current and/or past issues you're facing. My primary focus is working with children, adolescents, & parents, incorporating child-center play therapy, parent-child play therapy, & attachment theory. Your child is given a safe environment to play with toys, to communicate their experiences, behaviors and feelings, which then facilitates positive change and growth. “As children play, they are expressing the individuality of their personalities and drawing upon inner resources that can become incorporated into their personalities” (Landreth, 2012). In addition to this, I work with teenagers and adults experiencing discomfort in their day-to-day life, utilizing a variety of other modalities that meets you where you are at. Curious to learn more?
