As someone who has been on the “other side of the couch,” Simone is a huge advocate for the transformative power of therapy and recognizes the courage it takes to begin the journey. Simone is trained in CBT therapy, however, she offers a collaborative and holistic approach that promotes healing changes. In the course of your journey together you will determine the thoughts that lead you to feel self-doubt, anxiety, or overwhelming sadness. She believes in creating a space for clients to feel heard, validated, and supported. Simone believes in empowering clients and ensuring a strength-based, solution-focused approach as we walk through this process one step at a time. Simone Brown received her Bachelor of the Arts in Psychology, a Master in Education, and a Master in Social Work from Adelphi University. She is a licensed social worker in the state of New York. She has received certification in Narrative Therapy, Family Therapy, and Opposition in Adolescence and Adult ADHD. For the past 6 years, she has worked with adults, and families dealing with overwhelming changes in their lives. These changes have included grief, trauma, anxiety, and suicidal ideation. Her career began working with women and families experiencing housing insecurity and navigating the emotional changes that come along with such hardship. She also has experience working with and advocating for adults from a wide range of cultural backgrounds and the LGBTQIA+ population. “When I am not working as a therapist, I love spending time with my partner and our daughter. We love to travel and dance together. I enjoy working out and staying as active as possible. I feel the most peace when taking in live music and can go to the same concert twice if it's really good! I love watching movies, particularly horror and documentaries. I am always looking to take in new artistic experiences including theater, galleries, and love the feeling of attending broadway shows. My personal life goal is to feel as much peace as possible.”
