Introduction

I’m Silvia Espinosa, a bilingual, National Board Certified, Licensed Psychotherapist with nearly two decades of behavioral health experience treating mental and emotional conditions in children, teens, and adults. As a native New Yorker, I have found that I work best with those who have a creative, rebellious streak. Clients and couples seeking my personalized care appreciate the strong mix of compassion, authenticity and straightforwardness I bring to our sessions. COUNSELING There are three main areas that are dear to my heart: Play therapy for children who’ve gone through adverse life experiences, couples counseling for healthier communication and connection, and assisting survivors of abuse through their healing journey. As part of my scope of practice as a Certified EMDR therapist, I’ve been successful working with those who have experienced betrayal trauma: infidelity, incest, or interpersonal abuse (psychological, emotional, sexual & physical abuse). Know that it will take time to heal, courage to face the reality of your experience, and a steady commitment to your own healing. I’m also a Marriage Intensive Therapist for Focus on the Family's Hope Restored Program and specialize in restoring relationships in crisis caused by poor communication, infidelity, growing apart or problems with intimacy. Symptoms and behaviors of minors or adults in my care are interpreted through a nervous system and trauma-informed lens. Clients also have the option to include soul care in their treatment. This is because research has shown significant correlations between a client’s faith and improved psychological outcomes over the course of treatment. COACHING Whether coaching high performing professionals to be on top of their game, or designing treatment plans that will turn one’s tragedies into triumphs, I’ve had great results as a certified Life Coach guiding many through life transitions and goal attainment. I've seen the harmful impact continual stress can have on one’s mental health and interpersonal relationships and help harmonize a healthy work-life balance. My empathetic yet no-nonsense approach has also brought me great success working with high conflict relationships, in court cases, law enforcement and with military and medical personnel; bringing healing & hope to many families, marriages, and individuals in crisis. CONNECTION Currently, I live in the beautiful Midwest with my husband and best friend of 23 years, and am the mother of three lovely young ladies. If you need mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy, desiring coaching with results or are ready to reach a healthier state of mind, know you’ll be in quality, customized, and confidential care.
