My name is Silvia Atim, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor in the state of Texas. My journey began in the heart of Africa, among the Acholi tribe. As a child, the first grounding technique I ever knew was the drum. Its steady rhythm anchored us—to our emotions, our ancestors, our community, and ourselves. That is why I started the name of my practice as Tribal Drum recovery and healing. To me, the drum is more than an instrument; it is a return to self. A call back to our humanity, our wholeness, and the sacred essence of being alive .In today’s fast-paced world, there are many ways to ground ourselves. The drum is just one—but it carries an ancient truth: healing begins when we learn to listen to our own rhythm.
