You’re not alone. You’re not broken. Things can change. You can be and love who you truly are. You can let go of old habits and care for others without neglecting yourself. You can build and sustain loving, healthy, mutually-supportive relationships. The foundation of my counseling is building therapeutic relationships in which people feel safe, seen, understood, and valued exactly as they are. This is at the heart of my counseling practice, not only because I believe it is every human’s birthright, but also because I believe that when we have that unconditional positive regard, our capacity to thrive is fully unlocked. Partnering with me as your counselor, you can expect me to: * Be accepting, empathetic, and curious as we explore paths of change and healing that feel right for you at this time in your life * Help you call on your strengths even if you’ve come to therapy to “fix problems” * Relate to you with dignity and respect regardless of your race, gender, ability, class, language, spirituality, education, or sexual orientation * Think holistically, considering how all parts of your life experience influence you as well as how your current environments can be adapted to help you to thrive My primary counseling model is Internal Family Systems (IFS) and I am Level 1 IFS Trained. The heart of this model is Self knowledge, connection, and wisdom. As your counselor I will serve as a partner in facilitating this process.
