Introduction

“Would you like to rid yourself of constant worry and anxiety? Do you seem to get trapped in your thoughts? Are you struggling with something personal, and are not sure where to turn? Working on yourself and your relationships is a natural part of life. We can collaborate in a warm and safe therapeutic environment to encourage change and promote self awareness. Together we can identify and work on goals while helping you to navigate difficult life issues.” All treatment with Therapy Matters is supervised by Shiphra Bakhchi, Ph.D, a licensed clinical psychologist with degrees from Columbia University, New York University and a Masters and Doctoral degree in psychology from Yeshiva University at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Licensed in New York State in August 2010, Dr. Bakhchi has extensive training and experience in the treatment of depression, stress management, anxiety disorders, and coping with chronic illness. As a predoctoral intern, Dr. Bakhchi received specialized instruction through her work at the Mental Health Association of Westchester. In her post doctoral work, she acted as the clinical case manager for POPPA (Police Organization Providing Peer Assistance), working with New York City Police Officers. She is currently the Lead Psychologist and Employee Relations Specialist for Bank of America. Dr. Bakhchi offers services in both English and Farsi.
