MA - New York University Department of Applied Psychology I have great joy working in the non-profit sector: 25 combined years experience in New Jersey, France, Arizona, Michigan, England, Venezuela, Utah and the NY metro area. As a Wellness Coordinator for Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care staff, and in conjunction with NJ's Dept. of Children and Families, I taught mindfulness and movement workshops to other mental health professionals. In 2019 our Rutgers UBHC Mom2Mom Peer Counselor/World Health Org. team presented at the United Nations advocating for Latine visibility in the Autistic community. In a clinical setting I am a curious witness, and trust the wisdom and individual timing of every person with whom I collaborate. Unconditional dignity is paramount in my work - we practice fierce self-compassion based on Dr. Kristin Neff's evidence based research. My trauma-informed approach takes two directions—a top-down approach that focuses on how we think and process information and memory, and a bottom-up approach that focuses on embodiment and somatics. I utilize integrative, creative, culturally competent care, and employ Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) - both successors of CBT.
