Hello, I'm Dr. Sheri Parker. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated to providing culturally competent services for individuals and couples. I especially enjoy working with minority-identified individuals, military families, and those navigating life transitions. I work well with those experiencing depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and relationship issues. I am solution-focused and client-centered in my approach to working with clients. I primarily utilize Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Narrative therapy in my work, but I meet clients where they are and tailor my interventions to ensure I'm using techniques that are best suited to help clients reach their goals.I work with minority-identified individuals (BIPOC, LGBTQ+, Military, Women) and others who may be experiencing depression, anxiety, relationship issues, OCD, low self-esteem, change of life issues, grief, and workplace issues. I am warm, compassionate, and empathetic. I am results-driven, so I listen, support, and help clients navigate their pathway towards a more satisfying life. I allow clients to define their own goals, and to prioritize what's most important to them. I will help them through the process and explore the ways in which I can support them moving forward. During our first session, clients can expect to share the primary reason for seeking therapy and to discuss their goals for treatment. We'll explore any perceived barriers, as well as explore strengths and supports that will aid in treatment. Additionally, they can expect to learn a little bit about myself, including expectations for therapy and anticipated time to reach their goals. My path towards becoming a therapist started at a very young age. I have always been an empathetic person and someone who has worked to create inclusive, harmonious environments for all. As a military brat, my family moved a lot, so I was forced to learn how to make friends quickly. I also experienced adversity in the past, so I understand the importance of having a trusted person to talk to and to work through issues. I truly enjoy getting to know people and believe I was placed on earth to help facilitate meaning conversations that can uplift and bring hope to others.
