After being successful for 17 years in corporate America, I made the drastic decision to change careers and follow my passion. This led me to graduate school and obtaining my Master's degree in Clinical Social Work in 2009. I am licensed in the state of Minnesota and have been working in the mental health field since my graduation. My primary focus is helping individuals, couples, and families struggling with mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, family conflict, attachment issues, relationship issues, and life transitions. I have experience providing therapeutic services to individuals from various socio-economic backgrounds both in urban and rural settings. This has included providing mental health services to homeless young adults at an agency in downtown Minneapolis, doing in-home family counseling in rural Wisconsin, and individual therapy in a suburban mental health clinic. In addition, although not part of the LGBTQ community, I have extensive experience working with those who are a part of this community. What I have found is at the heart of all individuals, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, social status, gender identity or sexual orientation, is the desire to live their best lives. I believe therapy should be a partnership between the client and the therapist. My goal is to provide a safe and non-judgmental space where each person feels heard, understood, and supported on their life journey. I am eclectic in my approach to therapy. I am trained in several different therapeutic modalities and pull from these to to meet each client's individual needs. See approaches below. In addition to my training and education, I bring life experience and humor to the work I do. I believe humor is one of our greatest resources. I provide therapy to individuals 16+, couples, and families. I offer both in person and Telehealth appointments for individuals. Family and couples counseling is only provided in person. I know every therapist is not the right person for everyone. If I sound like the type of therapist you are looking for, I would love to work with you.
