Introduction

Shawntay is a National Board Certified Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor based in Anne Arundel County Maryland. Counseling sessions are personalized and structured based on the specific need of the client using evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Psychotherapy, Solution Focused Brief (SFBT), and faith-based solutions. She has expertise and training working with families who have experienced multiple family trauma. She has a great passion for assisting the emerging adult population navigate the uncertain transitions into adulthood. Overall, she wholeheartedly believes that a good support system is a great foundation for improving mental health outcomes. Shawntay obtained BS degrees in both Computer and Information Technology and Psychology from the University of Maryland Global Campus and her MA degree in Counseling Psychology from Bowie State University. As she brings a unique skill set to the therapy process she embraces the uniqueness in her Clients and believes it is the key to their strengths and momentum to strive towards positive mental health. “Each day we should strive to be better than yesterday for tomorrow.”
