Introduction

(Based in Virginia, we offer holistic counseling services for children and adults. We believe that therapy is for everyone; for issues big and small, and everything in between.) Shaquahia has 10 years of experience in the mental health field. She has worked in areas to include group homes for challenged patients, community mental health programs that service children and adults, inpatient behavioral health, oncology and hospice settings. Shaquahia truly enjoys helping others as cliché as it may sound. She received her undergraduate degree in psychology from Virginia State University and her master’s degree in social work from Walden University. Shaquahia is a native of Virginia but has traveled around the world as a result of the military. Shaquahia enjoys using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectal Behavioral Therapy, Solutions focused, strengths based, experiential and mindfulness approaches. In her spare time, Shaquahia enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, shopping and traveling. “I help individuals work on gaining emotional intelligence. My belief is, if you can control your emotions, you can best handle situations that may arise. I am passionate about helping people connect the dots from experiences that have shaped them. We can’t change our past, but we can create the narrative for our future. “
