In my experience, people often come to therapy because they are at a crossroads in their life. They may be uncertain about what to do about an important relationship, worried about their use of alcohol, in despair about having lost a loved one, or just needing to talk about the various stressors in their lives, that have left them anxious, depressed, sleepless or struggling to focus. I help people by working with them to better understand the issues that they are facing, the family history that may be influencing them and how to better understand themselves and more skillfully navigate their relationships. I have been a therapist for sixteen years and I received my graduate degree in Social Work from the University of Chicago. I am psycho-dynamically trained and often pull from mindfulness theory and the recovery model. Special groups I have worked with include first responder and people who are new to this country. I work only with adults.
