I'm glad you're here! My name is Shanna Rodgers, LCPC; I am a Montana-based Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and licensed school counselor in Billings, MT. In the eight years that I have been practicing, I have seen that real, substantial change is achievable and that life can become meaningful and fulfilling. People change by understanding first what is causing their current difficulties and then, within a collaborative, insight-oriented, and warm relationship that I can provide, work to alter those difficulties. Whether this is the first time seeking help or returning to work on other concerns, my approach is to meet you where you are and with your specific needs. I utilize a variety of clinically-informed interventions and modalities to assist clients with gaining insight into their mental health, building resilience and meeting individual therapeutic goals. The foundation of my therapeutic approach is person-centered, which allows for the development of a safe, trusting and supportive therapeutic relationship. Some of the common therapy models I use are trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). It is my desire for each individual to live with hope, purpose, and perseverance. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, life transitions, depression, processing trauma, perinatal individuals/families, or relationship issues among partners and friends, it is an honor to walk alongside clients, offering compassion, connection, and tangible support. My professional approach to communication is tailored to my client’s needs. I offer an assertive communication style that involves actively listening, showing empathy, being clear and direct, validating feelings, and allowing you to effectively guide our conversation and create a safe therapeutic space for you to share openly. Through the gentle untying of the knots of trauma, along with the reinforcement of strengths and resources, clients can once again meet joy with intention and self-compassion. Sessions with me involve curiosity, education, and concrete practices that will help shift your perspective on your internal and external experiences and give you the knowledge necessary to get you back in the driver's seat of your life. Following eight years of active duty military service in the U.S. Air Force, I completed graduate school at the University of Montana. I served as a Montana school counselor for 4 years before full-time clinical practice. I have more than 8 years of clinical experience working with individuals, groups, and families looking for guidance and support in navigating life's challenges I am currently accepting new clients! I desire to truly know my clients with their unique histories, complexities, strengths, joys, and fears. Please contact me to schedule your initial consultation or schedule a brief, 15-minute free phone call!
