Scott Riviere
Introduction
Welcome to the Kids Interactive Discovery Zone (K.I.D.Z.), Louisiana’s first Play Therapy Institute, founded in 1996 by Scott Riviere, MS, LPC, RPT-S. With over 30 years of experience, Scott is passionate about bringing out the best in children, adolescents, and their families through innovative and compassionate care. Scott holds a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi, specializing in the Child and Family track. As a Licensed Professional Counselor and one of the first Registered Play Therapist-Supervisors in Louisiana, Scott’s expertise is dedicated exclusively to children aged 2-18 and their families. At K.I.D.Z., Inc., Scott combines extensive clinical training with a playful approach to therapy, creating a space where kids can grow, heal, and thrive. His contributions to the field include serving on the Board of Directors for the Association for Play Therapy, creating therapeutic tools, publishing resources for mental health professionals, and producing the acclaimed Positive Parenting video series. When he’s not working with families, Scott enjoys life as a proud dad to his four kids—Dean, Lucia, Juliette, and Stuart. Born and raised in Lake Charles, Louisiana, he’s a graduate of Barbe High School, McNeese State University, and Southern Mississippi University.
