She is dedicated to helping her clients improve their psychological, physical, and social well-being. Supportive Therapeutic Approach Savarra provides a safe space to openly communicate past traumatic experiences and work toward recovery. She also works with clients in processing their day-to-day life experiences. Savarra works with clients to increase their self-efficacy, or belief in their capabilities to affect change in their personal and professional lives. Savarra helps clients achieve mastery experiences in working toward personal goals through narrative therapy and emotion regulation skill development. She believes in client empowerment and works with clients to help them achieve confidence in improving their well-being through self-regulation and social skill building. “In order to succeed, people need a sense of self-efficacy, to struggle together with resilience to meet the inevitable obstacles and inequalities of life.” ~~Albert Bandura Trauma What is trauma? Using SAMHSA’s (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) definition, individual trauma results from an event, series of events, or set of circumstances that is experienced by an individual as physically or emotionally harmful or life-threatening and that has lasting adverse effects on the individual’s functioning and mental, physical, social, emotional, or spiritual well-being. Recovery Recognizing trauma is key to recovery. Savarra helps her clients recognize trauma through screening and assessment. She aids in her clients’ recovery process by creating a therapeutic environment where they feel supported in gaining an understanding of experiences. She helps her clients move forward in the recovery process through the development of skills that empower them to have self-efficacy in decision-making processes. Savarra provides Telehealth psychotherapy and coaching. Savarra provides Walk-and-Talk and Home-Based psychotherapy and coaching in the San Diego Area.
