Overall, my counseling style is rooted in empathy. I strive to create a supportive environment where you feel heard and understood as you navigate through life. I'd like to help you challenge unhelpful thinking patterns and draw on your strengths, building confidence and self-awareness along the way. I draw from my experience in psychology and exercise science to understand you as a human, not as a diagnosis. I believe that people respond best to counseling when they are able to have a say in their treatment, so I like to take a partnered approach to counseling. You are in the driver's seat. I like to use all kinds of helpful tools, from arts and crafts to movement to good, old-fashioned listening. Tambien hablo Espanol! I enjoy using an integrated wellness approach derived from the Biopsychosocial Model for counseling, which allows me to get an understanding of your overall wellbeing, not just your mental health. In session I may pull from CBT, Humanistic, or Person-Centered approaches, to name a few, but ultimately my preferred modality is the one that works best for you.
