My name is Sarah Walewski and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (#15183) and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (#25692). I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at the University of Connecticut. I then earned my Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina. My counseling approach changes depending on the client I am working with, and what their specific needs are at any given moment. Counseling is not a one size fits all, and throughout the counseling process different techniques will be utilized to best serve the client. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, and Reality therapy as the backbone to most of my counseling techniques. I enjoy working with a variety of different types of clients, who are struggling or need some extra help in many different areas of their life including substance abuse, trauma and PTSD, depression, anxiety, life transitions, personality disorders and everyday life stressors. I enjoy learning about who you are, your story and everything that has made you who you are today. We all need some extra help sometimes and deciding to take that step to seek counseling should not be taken lightly. I create a safe and non-judgmental environment where my clients are able to explore issues and improve the quality of their lives. I look forward to helping you reach your goals and creating a better life for yourself.
