Sarah Starr is a Licensed Associate Counselor at Christian Counseling Services. She currently holds a Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Colorado Christian University. Before beginning at CCS, Sarah worked as a clinical intern in Denver providing in home therapy to children and families of underserved populations. She also worked as a clinical intern at a private practice in Denver serving a wide range of clients including children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Sarah is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. Sarah’s goal is to be a supportive, empathic, engaging, and calm presence in therapy. All adults deserve a place to be heard and accepted. Teens deserve a place of stability, independence, and exploration. And kids deserve a place of curiosity, creativity, and playfulness–a place where they can truly be kids! Sarah was raised in a Christian family and her faith has always been an integral part of who she is. “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever” – Psalm 73:26 Sarah is currently under the direct supervision of Perry Emerick, MA, LPC, who is an approved Clinical Supervisor through the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners. Sarah is currently working out of the North Phoenix Baptist Church Office and has availability for both in-person and virtual sessions.
