Sarah is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C) who has had experience working with clients from a variety of cultural backgrounds. After receiving her Master's in Social Work at Augsburg University, Sarah began honing in on her work particularly with fellow transracial adoptees. Sarah identifies as a queer/ace Chinese transracial adoptee herself, and loves working with fellow adoptees, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ identifying individuals. Additionally, Sarah works with individuals coping with grief and loss, wanting to strengthen or build parts of their identities, and/or experiencing general life stressors or transitions. Sarah believes her role as a therapist is to create a space where she can work collaboratively with her clients to reach their care goals. Sarah believes mental health, similar to physical health, is not a checklist to be completed or finished. Rather, it is an ongoing exploration and relationship to strengthen and better understand. Her approach to therapy is anti-oppressive and non-judgemental, and she focuses on building rapport and trust through transparency and self-disclosure. She uses a variety of theories/approaches to support the therapeutic journey but more importantly, she strives to find connection with her clients through their shared humanity. In her free time, Sarah enjoys learning languages (currently Tagalog, Thai, and Indonesian) and spending time with her cat, Noodle.
