I support individuals in learning how to accept and feel comfortable as they are. My passion is to work with clients who are suffering from big or small life events and help them find relief through understanding and reprocessing. The people who I work with often feel stuck, weighed down, or emotionally on edge due to a traumatic event or upsetting experiences. These experiences could have happened recently or many years ago, and they can be chronic or singular. I am driven to this work because I find it incredibly unfair that things happen to us in life, especially in childhood, that are out of our control. Yet, these are the moments and memories that shape our life’s trajectory and our capacity to live freely. I take a trauma-informed approach, meaning I have an understanding of how trauma impacts the body, brain, and spirit. This knowledge guides our work together and acknowledges the nuances of the human experience during and after trauma. I take a person-in-environment perspective. In other words, I consider how the environment, society, and culture influences personal development and well-being. I find it crucial to examine the impact of racism, sexism, and heteronormativity on our mental and physical health. Some clients prefer weekly therapy while others want to work intensively. Clients who work with me appreciate my warm, open and accepting approach.
