Introduction

Hey there, my name is Sarah (she/her) and I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker-Clinical Practice based in South Carolina. I earned a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Georgia and a Master of Social Work from The University of Alabama with an emphasis in Clinical Mental Health. Since graduating and entering the field in 2006, I have gathered broad social work experience. The culmination of these experiences has allowed me to better understand the complexities of the world in which we find ourselves. The complexities that have impacted our ability to function in everyday life further propelled my career into general private practice. I believe in "meeting the client where they are" as a starting point to create a safe, warm, and encouraging environment to help them maneuver through life’s transitions in a rewarding and meaningful way. Building and maintaining rapport is incredibly important to me; I find it to be the most important building block in the foundation of our therapeutic relationship. My approach to treatment is eclectic and based upon a person’s individual need. I strive to provide a down-to-earth, realistic and evidence based approach to guide clients to reach their desired goals. I am an LGBTQ+ affirming therapist and have significant experience working within the LGBTQ+ community. Furthermore, I have particular interest and expertise in diagnosis, treatment and management of ADHD, ASD, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Women’s Issues, Depression, Grief and Bereavement, and living with chronic medical conditions. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and adults.
