Sarah Carpenter earned her Masters of Science degree in mental health counseling at UMass Boston in May, 2017. She previously earned her BA in Psychology with a minor in Deaf Studies at The University of New Hampshire in 2013. Sarah began as an intern at Community Impact in May, 2016, and is now a full-time individual therapist in our office. She specializes in adolescents and young/emerging adults, eating disorders, and substance abuse. Sarah is well connected to local primary care physicians, dieticians, and treatment programs who also specialize in eating disorders. She worked for four years at Walden Behavioral Care in their residential unit treating eating disorders in adolescents and adults. Between working at Walden and her time here at Community Impact, she is also experienced working with substance abuse, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, bipolar disorder, depersonalization/derealization disorder, amongst other populations. Sarah completed two undergraduate internships at Medway House Family Shelter and Krempel’s Center in Portsmouth, NH, a day program for individuals with a traumatic brain injury.
