Humans are built to need each other, and our emotions are wired to help us find our way to these bonds. Sometimes, though, these wires get crossed, messages are misinterpreted, and emotional misfires happen. That’s where therapy can help. I've been in the therapist seat for over a decade now, continuing to grow and learn alongside my clients. My Master's training at Lewis & Clark College was grounded in social justice, recognizing ways that therapy can push back on how dominant culture and oppressive structures can mess with our psyches, our bodies and our relationships. Since then, I have engaged in at least monthly supervision and consultation, in order to reflect on and grow from my own work. I practice from an experiential, relational therapy framework. I have completed extensive training in Emotionally Focused Therapy, and am also informed by the Health at Every Size framework, Trauma-Informed care practices, and the Cultural Context model.
