Introduction

It's the most socially appropriate time in modern history to be a bit of a mess, but that doesn't make it easier for most of us. Being intelligent can actually make it harder to adapt to new things outside your frames of reference. Being deeply empathetic can cause you to feel like you're constantly letting others and yourself down. Being unique or different from norms can leave you feeling lonely and questioning yourself. If you tend to hold and hide everything inside or if you're someone who can't help but dump everything out all over the place, you may be experiencing miscommunication and judgment on top of everything else as the people around you struggle to understand and be helpful. It's easy to want to hide, ignore, or pick a fight with reality. There's nothing more normal than falling into old habits amid stress and change, but these moments also create unusual windows of opportunity to go in entirely new directions: to reinvent the wheel, to finally learn to love the wheel you already have, or to trade in your wheels for wings. I help easily misunderstood people, whether introverted, shy, or inhibited—or—outwardly expressive, gregarious, or impulsive, figure out how to wield their unique strengths, get out of their own way, connect with others, and thrive. My practice is 100% online, forever. Please visit my website, xc-counseling.com, for more information.
