Introduction

Sandra Maurer (She/Her/Hers) is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher. As a Reproductive and Women’s Mental Health Specialist, she enjoys supporting individuals and families of all kinds through life transitions, anxiety, depression, pregnancy, fertility challenges, pregnancy and infant loss, abortion care, gender and relationships, and trauma recovery. Sandra uses a whole-person, trauma-informed, approach that draws on ACT, CBT and Narrative Therapeutic interventions and incorporates mindfulness and movement-based strategies. Drawing on her East Coast roots, Sandra infuses her interactions with warmth, humor, and unfiltered honesty. Sandra completed her BA in Art Therapy at Arcadia University and her MA in Clinical Counseling at Adler Graduate School. She is a Certified Birth Doula through Birth Arts International and an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher through the YogaLife Institute. She has completed advanced perinatal mental health training through PSI and has a decade of experience working with birthing parents and families as a birth doula, trauma-informed yoga facilitator and therapist. Sandra co-founded Terra Firma, an organization that provides trauma-informed yoga services for clinical settings in the twin cities, where she developed and facilitated trauma training programs for mental health professionals and yoga teachers, as well as clinical programming at Redleaf Center for Family Healing through HCMC. At home, Sandra likes to take hikes with her dogs, and make soup and bread with her three kids and spouse near their big spruce tree named Spruce Willis, in St. Paul, MN. While she loves her home in Minnesota, she stays connected with her East Coast roots by visiting her family in New Jersey every summer.
