Therapy is a process of courage and commitment. I am fully dedicated to my clients as they navigate each step in their journey towards empowerment and change. J.R.R. Tolkien penned that courage is found in unlikely places and I agree. From youngest to oldest, my clients learn to discover and embrace their inner resources to achieve their goals. Sandra L. McLeod received her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Antioch University Seattle as well as completed one year of extensive training in Play Therapy under the direction of Cary Hamilton. She is currently a Registered Play Therapist through The American Play Therapy Association. Prior to her graduate work at Antioch, Sandra participated in extensive training in crisis including diversity, prevention and suicide risk assessment and engaged as a Best Buddy for a child at a local facility for traumatized children. Dubbed by her colleagues as “The Mary Poppins of Therapy”, Sandra blends compassion and humor into her symbolic-experiential approach with children as young as 3 to teens to adults of all ages. Sandra has specific training in Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT), Child-Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT), Sandtray, and AutPlay® Therapy. However, she believes in the healing power of relationships and supports family therapy where appropriate so that all members are given an opportunity to work together to identify their needs, extend understanding, and build connection.
