What we tell ourselves is powerful. Our thoughts have an amazing influence over how we view and relate to the world around us. I often tell my clients that bringing awareness to the thought/emotion/behavior connection is the "secret to life." This awareness is often the first step in helping us make the changes that we want and/or need to make. Trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I am excited to offer individual and family sessions rooted in this model of therapy. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy has been found an effective treatment for people impacted by anxiety, depression, self-harm, and PTSD among many others. Working with children and families is my specialty; which I have had the honor and pleasure of doing so for the last 20 years. I offer parent coaching and consultation utilizing the RIE/Mindful Parenting approaches. I am also certified in Trauma -Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which is an evidenced based model that has been proven highly effective for children/teens who have been impacted by trauma. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (#CW019514), and earned my Master of Social Service from Bryn Mawr College in 2006. I have 20+ years of expertise working with individuals, children and families and have conducted over 40,000 clinical hours.
