I obtained my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regent University and hold a Certificate of Substance Abuse Counseling from East Carolina University. I am a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS), Certified Clinical Supervisor Intern (CSI), Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), AADC (SC), and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC).I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a particularly effective approach to treating trauma, which often presents in conjunction with substance use disorder. I am passionate and committed to working with clients and families who are navigating the recovery process, whether that be substance use. I specialize in substance use and mental health disorders. I believe in meeting clients where they are at and helping them move through the stages of change. I utilize CBT/DBT, IFS-informed therapy, strength-based approaches, and am trained in EMDR. I have several years experience in this field with a background in law enforcement. I would describe myself as down to earth, assertive, direct yet compassionate, and I have a good sense of humor.
