My experience is in working in both individual counseling and partial hospitalization program settings treating eating disorders, mood and anxiety disorders and relationship and family stressors. I take a person centered approach to counseling to help individuals recognize and utilize their current strengths to develop new strategies and coping skills to most effectively navigate life circumstances. With empathy and compassion I strive to support and challenge the people I work with to meet their personal goals. Each person is unique and I aim for our time spent together in therapy to reflect that. I first want to understand your needs, wants and goals to work together to create the change you want to see in your life. Often we work to learn effective communication strategies, distress tolerance and mindfulness to improve your relationship with yourself and others. Starting therapy can feel intimidating! I always want the people I work with to feel safe in the space we create from the start and often that means having a chance to ask questions about the therapeutic process. Please reach out with any questions I can answer to help support you during this time.
