My name is Abby McCarrel, and I am an LCSW with a private practice called, “Welcome Home Family Therapy.” I work closely with parents of challenging and complex kids, with specialities in working with post-adoption and gifted families. I work from the beginning to help parents see their child’s challenges, as family challenges, viewing the family as my client. This helps to take the child out of the role of scapegoat and encourages parents to more fully step into their role, as the agents of change in the family. I also offer individual therapy to parents who are struggling or traumatized in their role as parents, using primitive reflex integration movements to bring more balance and calm to the brain. My motto is: I help parents become the healers in the family.
