Introduction

We love hearing about everyone else's sex life, yet when it comes to our own, we suddenly become chaste and demure. Look, I get it. I want to hear all about your sex life and have zero interest in discussing mine. So, let's chat about your sex addiction, porn addiction, sexual dysfunction & intimacy issues. We’ll address the trauma which likely lies beneath. I also work with couples because I learned in a grad school class that relationships can be difficult. Couples therapy is pretty cool because when you don’t want to answer my question, you can just turn to your partner and say, “You first. I love hearing about your feelings." Prior to being a therapist, I wrote for TV & film. I know about rejection, loneliness and “failure.” When you feel like a talentless hack, perhaps you turn to porn genres you didn’t even know existed. Or start searching your rolodex for the perfect massage parlor. (Why exactly do you have a rolodex?). Creativity & addiction have quite a history together. Sexual issues tend to come with a great deal of shame. Bring in the shame and we'll see what we can do to dismantle it. Self-compassion and a sense of humor are required. Okay, fine, self-compassion might be too much to ask for at this point...
