I often work with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, autism spectrum disorder, relationships and childhood trauma. I believe that change that occurs in therapy comes from forming a safe therapeutic relationship, while increasing your awareness of self, challenging your old beliefs, and establishing appropriate boundaries in relationships with others. I tend to be an active participant in therapy. I ask questions, offer observations, and look for patterns that may help provide a deeper understanding. However, I believe the client is the true expert on themselves, and I trust in each individuals unique healing process. While I believe in a flexible approach to therapy, I am mostly drawn to techniques found in Psychodynamic, Acceptance Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. My areas of focus include anxiety, depression, and childhood trauma. I also have experience working with people on the autism spectrum to help address social and communication difficulties.
