I am passionate about working with adolescents and adults who are navigating relationship conflict, sexual concerns, LGBTQIA+, identity issues, kink/poly relationships, grief and loss, depression, anxiety and/or neurodiversity. My affirming, sex-positive, and empathetic approach is deeply rooted in systemic theory. I collaborate with individuals, partners, and families to help cultivate receptiveness and empathy for one another’s feelings and needs within their relationship(s) and within themselves. I utilize my compassion and quirkiness to create a fun and safe space for my clients to manage difficult emotions, explore their sense of self, and feel more secure in their relationships. Ruth Johnson, LCPC has a Master of Arts in Couple and Family Counseling as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Northeastern Illinois University.
