Throughout my career, I have worked with clients from diverse racial, sexual, and religious backgrounds. Beyond my private practice, I have experience working in various settings, including correctional facilities, addiction treatment centers, and university counseling services. The most significant lesson I have learned is that every person is unique. I am committed to investing the time and effort to understand who you are, enabling us to collaborate effectively towards positive change. My expertise includes specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Coherence Therapy, and Prolonged Exposure Therapy. As a former instructor at the University of Memphis, I taught courses on crisis intervention, communication, counseling theories, and personality and cognitive assessment. I employ an evidence-based, integrative approach to collaborate with you in developing a personalized treatment plan. Extensive research has demonstrated that the relationship between client and therapist is the most critical factor in achieving positive outcomes. With this in mind, I maintain a collaborative approach in my work, and understand I will never be more of an expert on you than you are. Additionally, if for any reason you decide not to continue working with me, or if I believe another professional would be better suited to assist you, I will help you find the most appropriate person for your needs.
