Introduction

Hello! I am Dr. Ritchie. While I specialize in treating adults and adolescents (age 13-18) who are experiencing anxiety -- including OCD, PTSD, and phobias -- my background allows me to assist you with a variety of presenting concerns. Anxiety can come to dominate our lives and feel so overwhelming that accomplishing even everyday tasks may seem impossible. But there is a way forward! With the right support, you can escape any troublesome pattern in which you find yourself stuck. I have a strong background in evidence-based psychotherapy and use modern treatment methods to assist my clients in breaking out of and eventually mastering their anxiety. My practice is largely informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and I often take an active, structured approach. I have a strong research background in physiological/ health psychology, and with this knowledge I teach my client’s “Body Hacks,” which are ways you can use your body’s internal physiological mechanisms to better regulate your stress/anxiety. I am able to incorporate mindfulness and present moment awareness into treatment. While I am happy to see my clients as long as they wish, my ultimate goal is to facilitate your independent use of skills so that our meetings are no longer necessary. I see my role as your therapist to help you return to living a rich and fulfilling life of your own design. There is no right or wrong time to make a change; please contact me at any time. I am looking forward to meeting you!
