Introduction

(Curt Thompson, MD) Everyone has a story. I consider it a privilege to be a kind witness to your story. The development of a collaborative therapeutic alliance provides the context to create new experiences of being seen and heard. This relationship will play a central role in the healing process. It offers an invitation to name both the beautiful and shattered places of our stories when it serves to improve quality of life. My theoretical orientation is rooted in psychodynamic theory, which means we will look at early life experiences with the purpose of increasing awareness of how those past stories are impacting current life quality with ourselves and others. I also borrow from other therapeutic modalities such as attachment theory, narrative, existential, and internal family systems. This counseling process involves exploring past and current thoughts, actions, feelings, and relationships, including the therapeutic relationship. I received my masters in Clinical Mental Health from Messiah University. I am a Nationally Certified Counselor, a trauma informed therapist trained in an advanced narrative trauma focused approach from The Allender Center in Seattle, Washington. Additionally, I am a trained clinical trauma specialist for individuals (CCTS-I), completed Cognitive Processing Therapy training, and I am an EMDR certified therapist.
