I have a relaxed and conversational approach where I aim to help you reach your goals. I draw upon my professional experience and formal education, along with my years of practice and study of Buddhist philosophy and Ayurveda; including 6 years living in a Buddhist gompa. My goal is to help you understand more about yourself, your mind, your emotions, your relationships, and the situations in your life while working to apply practical psychological concepts with your own intelligence and mastery. I utilize practical mindfulness to bring awareness to the areas that are holding us back and to find the tools that are available to grow and face those challenging aspects of our lives. I have special inter- ests in working with ADHD, Anxiety, ASD (high functioning), Attach- ment, Coming-of-Age, Depression, Psychosis, Relationship chal- lenges, Trauma, and Grief. In clinical language, I say that I use a person-centered approach and utilize various theoretical lenses that are grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help people focus on making the changes they want to see. I like to educate people about the human mind and help them find the coping skills that work for them, so they can have more agency in finding their own balance. What this means is that I highly value your personal intelligence and rely on you as a teammate in your success. I like to use education, humor, and compassion to make it easier to sift through the good, bad, and the ugly while finding some solutions that work.
