Introduction

Hello, my name is Robert Carpenter, and I'm the owner of The Next Steps Counseling. I am here to offer compassionate support and guidance through life’s challenges. Having grown up in Las Vegas, I always aspired to have a career that would allow me to help others. After exploring various paths, I felt a calling to pursue a Master's Degree in Counseling. My upbringing in a struggling family, where we lived paycheck to paycheck, fueled my desire to make a positive impact and assist others in the long term. Since transitioning to this new career, I’ve been able to help many more people, and I feel deeply connected to my purpose. I specialize in Christian counseling, providing a faith-based approach to support those dealing with depression, anxiety, grief, anger, and family conflict. My goal is to offer empathetic guidance, identify areas for growth, and promote emotional awareness. While my theoretical approach leans toward Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I recognize that everyone is unique. After an initial assessment and treatment planning, I adapt my counseling style to best suit each client’s individual needs. We all need a helping hand at times—a fresh perspective that’s unbiased and compassionate. The future need not be bleak; together, we can discover purpose and light the way.
