Is it hard to control the stress? Are you feeling overwhelmed or unmotivated? Are you a parent worried about your teen? Life can be extremely hard at times, but you don't have to remain feeling stuck. Psychotherapy can help process what is weighing you down, tap into strengths, build resilience, and develop new skills to manage life's challenges with greater ease. About Me Riva Gardner, LCSW is here to help you feel good again! I have over 7 years of collective experience working with children, youth, and families in outpatient and school-based settings to improve mental health. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Social Work from Columbia University, concentration in Health, Mental Health, and Disabilities. I am licensed in the state of California and TEAM-CBT certified. I currently offer psychotherapy to individuals ages 13+ in person at my Alameda office or online, via telehealth. My expertise is in working with teens and transitional age youth, ages 13-25, addressing anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, relationship issues, adverse experiences/trauma, stress related to social pressures, transitions, and overwhelming feelings. My Approach I work collaboratively with clients to set personalized therapy goals that target unique challenges and provide relief. I use evidence-based therapy methods, primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and eclectic, client-centered, trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, strengths-based, mindful approaches to tailor therapy to each client so we can focus on progress toward individualized therapy goals developed together during the initial assessment. I explore how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors impact one another to assist clients in developing healthy strategies to manage and reduce symptoms. Clients leave therapy with tools to improve mental health here and now, so they can focus on feeling good again. Contact Contact me today to schedule your free 15 minute initial consultation, an initial assessment, or therapy session.
