Introduction

Renae Larsen LLC, MS, LMHC, LIMHP, is a native resident of the Council Bluffs/Omaha metro area. After working in the commercial insurance industry for 15 years, Renae made the decision to go back to school and pursue her passion of being a mental health therapist. Renae received her master’s degree in clinical counseling from Bellevue University. Renae started her mental health career by providing BHIS services to individuals and families in their home. This provided great hands-on experiences. But she knew she wanted to work with clients on a deeper level and after being trained in EMDR in 2018, she found herself interested in learning about complex trauma and co-occurring disorders. She is certified in providing EMDR therapy. Renae is passionate about learning and understanding how trauma impacts each person individually and at all ages and stages of their life. It is important for her to understand each person and their individual experiences with a goal of helping them live a happy, healthy, and whole life. Renae works with people of all ages. In addition to EMDR, Renae has been trained in Circle of Security (parenting), PCIT-Iowa (Parent Child Interaction Therapy), Sandtray, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) DBT (Dialect Behavioral Therapy) and Somatic approaches.
