Trauma. All too often we hear that word and there’s a shame, an othering, or we’re made to feel as if we are weak for even acknowledging its existence in our lives. However, that is so very far from the truth. Trauma comes in so many different forms and we’ve all experienced it in some capacity, had it touch our lives, and changed the course of our path. For me, trauma looked like struggling as a child in a home where alcoholism and verbal abuse were commonplace. Trauma looked like becoming a rape survivor as an adolescent from a trusted friend and blaming myself. Emotional trauma looked like a lack of acceptance or support of my sexuality and identity. I share these moments of my life because I believe that the therapeutic relationship is built upon trust, compassion, and transparency. You are the expert of your life and my role is to help you navigate the challenges that you face in the journey of becoming the best version of yourself. But how can you do that without feeling like the person in the room with you can understand struggle? I will provide you a safe space to challenge yourself, to be vulnerable, and to gently push through the doors that block you from moving forward. I provide therapeutic services for a diverse array of individuals regardless of identification. I am a bi-racial, queer, sex-positive, kink-knowledgeable therapist who is an ally to sex workers, LGBTQ+, military and open relationship non-monogamous individuals.
