You have already taken the hardest step – you have reached out for help. This communicates to me that you are looking for answers, guidance, or clarity. Take a deep breath. I can help you. After obtaining my B.A. from UC Berkeley, I completed my doctorate in clinical psychology at Pepperdine University. As a licensed clinical psychologist, I have extensive training and experience working with individuals struggling with depression and crippling anxiety, coping with trauma and loss, and navigating the challenges of relationships. Working with veterans at the West Los Angeles VA, treating those struggling with addiction at an inpatient dual diagnosis facility, and providing care for a diverse population of adults in community mental health clinics has all broadened my perspective in treating trauma, emotional and physical pain, and strengthening one's mental health. In my experiences working with veterans and dual-diagnosed populations, I've grown mindful of the interplay between chronic pain, addiction, and trauma and the subsequent impact on depression and anxiety. I am committed to growing your understanding of the interaction between pain and mood and together we implement strategies to manage, cope, and gain symptom relief from both physical and emotional pain. People are complex and nuanced, and thus require treatment that is tailored to their unique needs. I integrate my expertise in psychodynamic therapy with evidence-based practices in cognitive behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. At the core of these modalities is the exploration and understanding of how our past informs our behavior, relationships, and beliefs about ourselves today. I invite you to schedule a free 20-minute consultation to determine if we are a good fit.
