I am Rasley (sounds like paisley) Easley and I am an Austin mental health therapist with a love for people and a strong passion for helping others. I believe that my role is to help people find their way to a path that meets their needs, empowers their voice, increases their coping skills and feels salient to them while seeking light and laughter along the way, kind of like Beyonce meets Brene Brown. I received my B.A. in Psychology from Baylor University and my M.A. in Licensed Professional Counseling from Texas State University. I am licensed to practice in the state of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor and my professional experience includes years of providing social services and therapy to children and adults with traumatic backgrounds, transition age youth (16-25), older adults and people with early cognitive impairment/dementia diagnosis. My work focuses on assisting clients with coping with life transitions and relationship difficulties . The foundation of my practice is Person Centered Therapy with an eclectic. therapeutic approach. Person Centered Therapy as a foundation looks like unconditional positive regard, genuineness, empathetic understanding and building relationship. The goal of person centered therapy is to facilitate personal growth and development, eliminate and mitigate feelings of distress and increase self-esteem and openness to experience. As a therapist I am constantly asking "How can I provide a relationship which this person may use for his own personal growth?”-Carl Rogers I operate from a lens that since we often experience our hurt through relationships that the best space to receive healing is through relationships. I also utilize solution-focused and cognitive behavioral techniques to assist the client in their process of growth and change all through a trauma informed lens. Every client is unique with their own story, experience, culture and identity and deserves a safe and caring place to navigate this thing we call life. I pride myself in being able to foster connection and relationship and help people feel at ease. To me therapy is about culture, identity, creativity, connection, community, humanity and shared meaning. I look forward to walking this journey with you.
